After spawning a TikTok dance trend, Water became the first Top 40 single for South African artist Tyla, and quickly became her first-ever Number 1 on the UK's Official Afrobeats Chart.
Produced by Sammy SoSo, and co-written with legendary R&B producer Tricky Stewart - who has worked with everyone from Beyoncé to Mariah Carey - plus Ari PenSmith, Mocha, and Believve, it's a breezy Amapiano bop on which Tyla shows off her sultry vocal style.
"Make me sweat, make me hotter, make me lose my breath, make me water," sings the Johannesburg-born rising star who has previously collaborated with Major Lazer and Ayra Starr. Combined with her signature dance moves – with kickstarted the dance trend to begin with – it's easy to see why Water became a massive breakthrough hit for the 21-year-old.
