"Hi Barbie!" Dua Lipa plays Mermaid Barbie in Greta Gerwig's blockbuster comedy film, so she was a natural choice to record a song for the soundtrack. Co-written with Mark Ronson, Dance the Night is a shimmering disco banger that features glistening strings and a similar infectious energy to Dua's 2020 album Future Nostalgia.

A true song of the summer, Dance The Night became Dua Lipa's fourth Number 1 on the Official Singles Chart following 2017's New Rules, 2018's One Kiss with Calvin Harris and 2021's Cold Heart with Elton John. The video features a cute cameo from Greta Gerwig and shots of Margot Robbie's title character having an absolute blast. We had an absolute blast dancing to it, too.
