HEAVY IS THE HEAD – STORMZY (REVIEW)
Track 1) Big Michael - 8/10, I like the flow on this and I like the lyric “ your mum”. Good track in general
Track 2) Audacity (ft. Headie One) – 10/10 THIS SONG IS FIRE!! One of the best of 2019, the flow, the hook and the feature from headie one is amazing and stormzy’s delivery is perfect. I love this tune.
Track 3) Crown – 9/10 Again, incredible song. His singing isn’t bad at all and the hook is quite catchy! And the verses are incredible too!
Track 4) Rainfall (ft. Tiana Major9) – 8/10 Another solid tune, verses are good and I like the vocals from Tiana Major9
Track 5) Rachel’s little brother – 7/10 Pretty good song, I like the change of tempo at the end.
Track 6) Handsome – 5/10 Meh. Nothing much else to say.
Track 7) Do better – 6/10 Good flow, just gets a bit boring
Track 8) Don’t forget to breathe (ft. Yebba) – 5/10 not the best, but not expecting much for an interlude.
Track 9) One second (ft. H.E.R) – 5/10 Just a bit bland. Vocals are decent.
Track 10) Pop Boy (ft. Aitch) – 8/10, the flow is so good on this track! Aitch’s verse is also fire! These last 6 songs are definitely the best part of the album.
Track 11) Own it (ft. Burna Boy & Ed Sheeran) – 11/10, not only one of the best songs of 2020, one of the best of ALL TIME. This song deserved WAY more than 3 weeks at number 1. The production, the verses and the catchy hook are perfection. Ed’s verse is really good, and burna boy makes the chorus max quality. Outstanding song.
Track 12) Wiley flow – 10/10 FIREEEEEE!!!!!!!! His flow is just incredible and I love the production on this! Stormzy’s delivery is incredible as always.
Track 13) Bronze – 7/10 Good flow, similar to pop boy.
Track 14) Superheroes – 8/10, Brilliant song, good lyrics. Samples a cbbc show theme tune LOL.
Track 15) Lessons – 9/10 Again, really good song, about his break up with Maya Jama
Track 16) VOSSI BOP 😍 – strong 10/10, deserved a lot more weeks at number 1, what a way to end this masterpiece of an album! Stormzy with incredible delivery and flow ONCE AGAIN with this incredible song. Best line is the government and boris.
Overall: 126/160 (79%) = 8/10
One of my favourite albums of all time, barely any skips and stormzy is consistent throughout the album. Only one problem is that it is missing sounds of the skeng & take me back to London! Both 10/10 bangers and deserve a place on the album.
