Burna Boy made Official Charts history in September 2023 when he became the first ever international Afrobeats artist to score a UK Number 1 album. I Told Them..., his fifth studio set, stormed straight to the top to build on the success of his three previous charting LPs: 2019's African Giant (Number 19), 2020's Twice As Tall (11) and 2022’s Love, Damini (2).

Recorded with producers including in-demand Brits P2J and Steel Banglez, I Told Them... comprises 15 super-vibey tracks including the singles Sittin' on Top of the World, Cheat on Me featuring Dave, and City Girls. It also features collaborations with American rappers GZA, RZA and J. Cole, underlining Burna Boy's truly global appeal.

During a headline show at London Stadium, Burna appeared to explain the album's elliptical title when he said to the crowd: "I told them I'm a genius."
