Mr Brightside
Is it too late for "Christmas Number One" by James Farrant, to take the top spot?! Ah!!!..always next year!
andrewrobinson
So, we're supposed to accept that "Proper Christmas" by the Krackpots is Number 1 in the Downloads chart and Number 2 in the Sales chart, but somehow that's not enough to get it a position in the 'top 100'?
The Official UK Charts Company needs to take a good look at their weighting system, because it sure looks broken to me!
Bluey G
I think the current Top 100 must be made up. There are things in that I simply can't understand. Leona Lewis? Love the Krackpots and hoping they'll be releasing vinyl.
M
mrstarling
My names noah and u really want stick season by noah kazan too get number 1 1. Isint it crazy that's it'd got more streams than all i want for christmas is you in december 2. I dont think a noah has ever got no.1
annann
Top 10 songs mostly all Xmas songs and about LOVE cos after all it is the season. Pity that the animal eaters who think this day is so wonderful and find it such a happy event are too stupid to see it is a day of murder and blood shed where weeks/months before this so called "special day" millions of animals are killed in such a horrible way simply because these fools want to eat the traditional turkey or whatever animal is to their liking. This day is actually the worse ever for animals. Enjoy your special day and with each bite remember the animal was butchered because of your support. You called this a day of love and I call it a day of HATE.
TheSuperSpinD
glad people are finally seeming to realise stay another day is not a christmas song, now we wait for the same with stop the cavalry
andrewrobinson
It's got "Wish I was at home for Christmas" in the chorus, so I think you're out of luck there.
Bluey G
Do you know what the song is about? Based on factual history? Look it up and learn.

Yes!!! rooting for Cher at # 41, on the verge of Top 40!!! I love Cher and I love "DJ Play a Christmas Song.!!!
THIERRY
Me too!
Love her, love her, love her!!
Your favorite song? i know so many to choose from!!
Velvet Android
Lining up just outside the Top 40 right next to Darlene Love's Christmas (Baby Please Come Home), too – on which Cher sang uncredited backing vocals exactly 60 years ago! Which I never knew until very recently, yet for years when I first heard it I always thought it sounded like Cher, presumably because the two women have a similar sort of vocal tone.
And to complete the circle, Cher has now finally covered it herself on her new Christmas album, in a duet with Darlene – how perfectly appropriate :)
THIERRY
Thanks 😊 for the information mate. Much appreciated
. I didn't know the story about these 2 legends 🙌 👌
.
M
magicalbabe
Absolutely obsessed with this tune by Cher! DJ play a Xmas song is the Only new Xmas tune I like this year. Kelly clarkson’s underneath the tree also one of my faves. Loved Cher performing on strictly
T
TheLoverman
Hard to tell, dear Thierry!! but I can mention a couple... "Take me home", "Believe", "Just like Jesse James", "Strong Enough", "I Got you Babe"... so many indeed!!!
T
TheLoverman
Agreed!!! I loved Cher´s performances for Thanksgiving and at Rockerfeller Center, etc...
THIERRY
Over the moon to finally see BADDADAN dropping 35 places this week!! AWFUL SONG!!
THIERRY
Hope to see after Xmas TEDDY SWIMS getting his first Top 40 with the brilliant LOSE CONTROL!!
So happy the single reached number 1 in BELGIUM!!
T
TheLoverman
I so love "Lose Control"!!!
THIERRY
Still no MIMI WEBB in the Top 100 this week!!
Her brand new Xmas song is sooooo good and i still cannot believe her last 3 songs didn't even make the Top 100: so unfair!!
THIERRY
NAT KING COLE have released so many great Xmas songs but never really shined with any of them in Europe..Glad to see him having more success in the US at least!!
THE CHRISTMAS SONG is easily in my favorite Top 5 Xmas song of all time!!
THIERRY
CHER was so close to make the Top 40 this week!!
DJ PLAY A CHRISTMAS SONG is such a brilliant track and really hope to break the Top 40 next week!!
THIERRY
LEONA LEWIS's "one more sleep" should have made the Top 20 by now...love that song and shame the single never reached the Top 5 after its first release years ago!!
THIERRY
Did expect SAM RYDER to easily make the Top 5 this week as it was at number 4 mid week!!
Hopefully next week....
THIERRY
With so many Xmas songs making the Top 40 this week, really didn't expect the brilliant NOAH bouncing back this week so glad he did!!
He may even have the chance to reach the number 1 spot after Xmas?!
THIERRY
As much as i am happy to see LAST CHRISTMAS at number 1 again this week, i really wanted FAIRYTALE OF NEW YORK to finally reach the Top spot!!
So long overdue but at least the single reached the number 1 spot in Ireland last week!!
sakgra
is it me or Xmas songs are already losing their strength ?
Piran
It isn't just you. There were 56 Christmas songs in the chart last week, now there are 52.
Velvet Android
This is just a 'breather' week though, where nothing specific is really happening in terms of the festive calendar.
Give it another week though and they'll be revving right back up again: next week's chart, which will be the official Christmas chart, is likely to be even more saturated – and then the following week, which will incorporate the mindboggling numbers of streams from Christmas Eve and the day itself, will no doubt be even more skewed towards all things tinselly.
M
Marcegol
I really hope so... Well, is that or another recycled Taylor song

Noah Kahan was a very big surprise for me, what was with the sudden increase on Spotify?
Shoogle
A God awful No.1 again, I don't think I can stomach it being Christmas No.1, still keeping my fingers firmly crossed for FoNY. Even Mariah would be preferable.
Piran
Even if I liked her debut a lot more, Tate McRae’s new album is decent and it’s amazing that she’s finally getting a lot more mainstream recognition!
‘Greedy’ back in the Top 10 is fine, but good to see ‘Exes’ with a big rebound since it’s definitely a grower! Also happy to see ‘Run For The Hills’ here as it’s among my highlights of the album. :)
Piran
Shame Cher missed the Top 40 this week, hope she’s in it next week.
If ‘DJ Play A Christmas Song’ does get there, she’ll become the first artist ever to chart a new song in the region in seven consecutive decades!
Piran
Why do OCC have Bublé as the image for Elvis’ ‘Blue Christmas’? 😭
https://uploads.disquscdn.com/images/284e88f1d113fbbd41ff6c475026fa80c3cf669ddf1f247015d31a1f9bb8b91b.png

Because nobody at ICC is remotely interested in getting these things right.
People who do care about such things are forever leaving notes under weekly charts or on artist pages. Yet however many comments are posted, and however many years they sit there for, they're virtually never acted upon. Evidently, there's no-one working for OCC who is willing or able to take the time to go and manually correct the errors.
And whatever algorithm they leave the image selection to instead is clearly slapdash at best.
Piran
The website update earlier and the removal of Disqus was bad enough. :/
Piran
Since it’s one week from today until this year’s Christmas Number 1 is announced, what do you all want it to be?
I’d love to see ‘Fairytale Of New York’ finally make it to the top of the chart with the vinyl copies of it now released. I think it should definitely have at least a week at the summit given how much of a festive classic it is. Would be a very fitting tribute to Shane too! ❤️

Good choice. Definitely wouldn't mind this taking it either!

Last Christmas for me too

i also really hoped for a surprise peak by Cher

Cher will definitely enter the Top 40 next week. :)
